5 Tips To Writing a Wedding Speech that WOWS the Audience

When you are about to go give a speech at a wedding, but don’t feel you have the speaking ability of the president, don’t worry! You can almost be a “speech butcher” and still get a fairly good response with these 7 wedding speech tips to help wow your audience, and the bride! Don’t fear standing up, choking and simpyl saying “thanks for coming, let’s celebrate, cheers!”

First off you want to figure out what you want to say with the toast. What is it that you know about your bride, family, their family or your shared interests that can be interesting for everyone to hear? Did you share a passion that’s common for both of you? What is it that you want people to know about her special qualities, that you love, and why?

Second you want to only talk about a FEW of the most important things that makes this day so special, personal and amazing for you. Just stick to your original plan that you have written down in bullet form and make sure not to “read a script”. This is a speech and should be planned, but also spontaneus and beautiful. Don’t rumble on forever about boring topics!

Third, try to add some spice, humor and emotion. Don’t be formal and talk about “facts”. Joke around and just let loose. Try to add a little bit of “yourself” into the mix as well! This is something very important that most people accidentally miss out. Everyone will appreciate the confidence and the honesty of an emotional, and funny wedding speech.

Fourth, practice in front of friends before you go public with your groom’s wedding speech! It can be good to get your best friends (who you trust’s) opinion before you give the speech on the big day!

Fifth tip should be obvious, but don’t be NEGATIVE! People will not be attracted to a speech that has negativity in it. Be upbeat and positive with your speech, so you don’t end up with any off-putting regards at the end. The best way is to keep a strong positive mood throughout the speech and then finish off your toast with a serious note. End it with an “I love you honey”, and hope for the best for both of you.

If you are still worried there are tons of professional services online that will help craft you the perfect groom wedding speech, but most of them charge upwards of $200 to get a good one, but I found a great site that gives you 20 successful groom wedding speeches and you can download it here for a nominal fee!

The perfect wedding speech is not one that is grammatically flawless but one that oozes sincerity and love for the couple. So relax and have a great time giving your speech!
